The power of a smoothie special treat
Today was a big day for the kids (and me) relative to our normal days. I must have woke up with an extra burst of energy because I decided to get the kids to the indoor playtime at the Robert A Lee gym (vs the Robert E Lee gym that I was calling it before Sam corrected me that I was not in the South anymore). We got there on time, but no one else was there. Maybe it had to do with the nice warm weather that blew in this morning. So, after an hour of play, I took the kids to an early lunch at Panchero's (aka to the kids as Quesadilla Town) where we enjoyed our cheese quesadillas! Yum-o!
As we were so close to the mall and I had 3 things to return there, I got somehow got my second wind and decided to embark on that adventure. The plan was to get through the entire length of the mall without a stroller. After a short talk with the kids in the car, we made a deal that the kids would get to walk on their own as long as they listened to Mommy and gave no tantrums, we would be rewarded with extra playground time followed by a smoothie treat.
All went well until I stopped at the first store (Payless shoes) where Natalie loudly announced through her instant tears "not this store!" How EMBARASSING since I was there to make a return! After a kind reminder of our deal, I got out of the store with agreeable kids and a $31 credit! The last 2 stops went extremely well, which ended with a very interesting potty break for Mommy. For those moms out there, you can imagine the stress of going to the bathroom with two toddlers in the small stall with you and hoping to God they don't say anything embarassing about what's going on in the bathroom. My lucky stars were shining because all Peter commented on were the loud flushing noises - pretty harmless.
As promised, my kids got to play in the mall playground. Unfortunately, we were as far from it as possible and Natalie seemed tired. So, with Peter leading the way, my pregnant self carried Natalie most the way down the mall. When we got closer to the play area, Natalie got her second wind and ran towards the play area. I took the next 40 minutes to get some rest and to pray that the kids played so much that I would get naps from both of them! The smoothie we shared was a nice treat - if I got much of it. Peter and Natalie failed to include Mommy's turn in most of the sharing circle. Oh well...sacrifices we parents make.
My hopes of a long nap weren't completely fulfilled. However, I did get one solid hour of peace and quiet. Then, Peter and Natalie were back to their usual play: Peter playing with his toy computer spelling words and Natalie putting back together the "broken" puzzle and holding her puppy close to her neck.
Right now, I'm craving a burger - baby #3 is already making its presence known and its hungry!

Ultrasound April 7, 2008
Here are a couple of the latest ultrasound photos, dated April 7, 2008. In this first photo, you can see a great profile of Baby #3.
In this photo, a very realistic image of the baby's face. It's the first time I've seen the face more than just a skeletal (typical ultrasound) image.
During my ultrasound, the technician and I just watched the baby's movements while waiting for the doctor to come. It was a great experience as I got to see the baby's eye moving around, tongue rooting, and even the baby trying to lick its arm that was across its face.
I'm not sure whether or not this was the last ultrasound I will have. Everthing has been normal with my hyperthyroid and the baby's thyroid thus far. It will be a relief to not have any more ultrasounds...the temptation to look at its "parts" has been huge. It's been a hard challenge for me, but I really want the gender to be a surprise at delivery.

Hi everyone! Here's my attempt at keeping a blog myself. I figure it's about time with all of my interesting experiences at my current job of 3 year, 4 months and 10 days - Mommy! With so many new happenings, I needed a way to share and document for the future. As I'm also experiencing Momnesia, recording my happy (and probably a few not so happy) moments are key. So, I hope you will enjoy my posts. Someday, I hope that Peter, Natalie, and Baby #3 will appreciate all my thoughts and reactions to their early years of growing up! Until next time...
